Winter sports practiced on ice and snow or hiking, rafting, tubing and cannoning in summer times are just a few of the attractions and adventures waiting in St. Christoph.

The luxury Arlberg Hospiz Hotel can look back on a long tradition. Already in 1386, after Duke Leopold III of Austria donated him a piece of land, Heinrich, a foundling from Kempten, opened his first lodge in the place of the present luxury hotel. Alpine climbers could find here a refuge from the cold of winter and from snowstorms over the centuries. At the end of the 19th century the construction of Arlberg tunnel began. People did not have to cross the mountain pass any longer and were able to take a train which provided a shortcut through the mountain. Fewer visitors were coming to the lodge until when the ski-boom broke out around 1900 and Arlberg Hospiz Hotel turned into a center of winter sports. A devastating fire in January 1957 burnt down the entire building and thus the hotel was rebuilt even more luxurious and bigger than before. Since that time Arlberg Hospiz Hotel welcomes and hosts its guests Five-Star-Ambient. The hotel combines Tyrolean coziness with most modern facilities as well as contemporary art. By the way, the name “Hospiz“ which the hotel bears refers to a medieval hospice for pilgrims and needy people which was sponsored by the church.
