A special of the 24th ART Innsbruck from 16 to 19 January in Innsbruck promises an extraordinary premiere. For the first time, ArtsouthAfrica an artists' representation from South Africa, whose operators have now made it their goal to bring South African art to Europe will attend the event. Following their successful debut at Artmuc in 2019, ArtsouthAfrica's curatorial team, Barbara Lenhard and Florian Gast, is bringing a compiled show of selected positions in contemporary South African art to Austria for the first time.

In addition to a personal exhibition of the British-Cypriot artist John Kiki, organized by the Swiss gallery collective WOS, and the estate presentation of the renowned Tyrolean painter Herbert Danler via the Viennese Galerie Hartl, selected works by six contemporary artists from South Africa will be on view at the ArtSouthAfrica stand at the 24th ART Innsbruck, which will not least document the dazzling expressive diversity of the South African art scene. "South Africa has an extremely lively and exciting art scene," says ArtSouthAfrica owner Barbara Lenhard, who is actually from Germany but has lived in South Africa for many years. According to her experience, interest in contemporary South African art, especially in the German-speaking countries, has increased enormously in recent years. The works exhibited at the 24th ART Innsbruck range from large-format paintings on canvas to charcoal drawings and art on newsprint.

The 24th ART Innsbruck will be officially opened on Wednesday, 15 January 2020 at 7.30 p.m. and will then invite art lovers and collectors to view and buy for four days, from Thursday, 16 to Sunday, 19 January 2020, inclusive.

The focus of the art fair is on international contemporary art. In addition to paintings and works on paper, the approximately 90 exhibitors from a total of 10 nations will be showing edition objects and original prints, Sculptures, objects/installations, photographs, digital media.
